About David Dunlap
David Murray Dunlap was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but has lived in Memphis from early childhood. He has an extensive and diverse career in law, and now operates a solo practice, Dunlap Law.
Education
He received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, and completed his first year of law school at Wake Forest School of Law during his senior year. He graduated with his law degree in 1985 from University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, TN, where he was on the Moot Court Board and Constitutional Law Moot Court team.
Humphreys, Dunlap, Wellford, Acuff & Stanton, P.C.
After graduating from law school, he returned to Memphis and began his law career with Humphreys, Dunlap, Wellford, Acuff & Stanton, P.C., a reputable boutique firm, where he practiced for 18 years and became a partner. During his time there, he gained broad experience in diverse areas of practice including the following:

Senior Solutions Now, Inc.
In 2007, he began working as in house general counsel and secretary for Senior Solutions Now, Inc., a company that developed senior living facilities. In this role, he dealt extensively with various corporate, real estate, development and financing issues, handling all transactional work associated with the development, construction, leasing and management of assisted living facilities.
Solo Practice
Following the real estate crisis, he returned to a private solo practice in 2011, founding his own firm, and continuing to focus primarily in the following areas –

Family Life
Mr. Dunlap is married and has three daughters. He is a member of Christ Covenant Reformed Church. He has served on the board of Streets Ministries, an inner-city Christian ministry in Memphis, and more recently on the board of Westminster Academy, a classical Christian JK through 12th grade private school in Memphis.
He has completed 6 marathons, including the New York, Chicago, Marine Corps, and Boston marathons.
